Spent an absolutely delightful weekend down in Southampton with a few friends, the main show of which was a trip to the Ageas Bowl for the 3rd ODI between England and New Zealand.

Gallery: Royal London One-Day Cup – Middlesex v Somerset, Lord’s
Back to Lord’s once again. Middlesex have played Somerset in all three formats this year, but this match was the first I’d managed to see.
Peter Trego scored a century, and Middlesex were beaten by 6 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Enjoy!

I finally made it to Chelmsford, after several years of being told I need to come over for a game and a failed attempt earlier in the year through being poorly. Another first class ground to tick off the list. Today, Essex v Lancashire in the 50 over contest. Thoroughly enjoyable day.

Another day in the sun at Lord’s, and a Middlesex victory was ensured by a fantastic innings by Eoin Morgan. This followed an equally brilliant century from Dilshan, bringing out a variation on the Dilscoop to notch up his first century for Surrey this season. A very enjoyable day.

Gallery: Royal London One-Day Cup – Middlesex v Warwickshire, Lord’s
Back to Lord’s for the first home match of the new 50 over domestic game. The sun was shining and the cricket was tense, thrilling and ultimately disappointing for the home fans. However the highlight of this match, for me, was seeing Jonathan Trott return to Lord’s and return to form after a difficult winter. I for one have missed the scratching of the crease and weird and wonderful facial expressions he pulls while out in the field. It’s good to see him back again.
